Qatar Driving Rules "according to Ministry of Interior":

Document required by traffic to drive a car:

• Temporary Driving License Validity Periods
• Permanent driving license from Foreign Countries will allow driving seven days from the date you arrived to Doha.
• Driving License (Permanent or Temporary)

After or during these seven days you will need to get a temporary driving license.
If you arrange a temporary driving license, it will last as long as your passport visa period.

Save your old temporary license!!!

 

Transferring from Temporary to a Permanent license:

• Once you have obtained a temporary license you can transfer it to a permanent license

International Driving License:

• If you hold an International Driving License obtained not from Qatar, along with your visit visa, this can be valid for up to 6 months from the day of arrived
• If you want to drive a private vehicle or rent one, may be it will NOT all Insurance


Renting a Car company’s in Qatar will accept an International Driving License

You should check and be sure that you are accedent covered whichever Driving License you are using.
